The following information will help you understand what standards we have applied to the site and how to deal with certain file types.

Navigation

Each of the web site pages has a java script based sliding menu down the left hand side of the screen.
Links include a description box informing the user where the link will go. This can be viewed by placing the pointer over the link.
Common links are placed at the top of each page for easy access.

Keyboard access

Keyboard access is important for users who do not have the ability to use a pointing device. Web pages have been constructed to allow users to bind keyboard strokes to actions. Not only is this an essential tool for many sections of the community, but it is a quick and easy way for everyone to navigate the site. Just press the 'alt' key and the required letter at the same time and the relevant link will be activated.

Below is a complete list of the short cut keys to be used when navigating.

Searching

To complete a search the user has to enter a word or collection of words into the text search box. Pressing the return key or clicking on the search button will present the user with a listing of documents which correspond to the search details. These results will be rated, the most complete matches will be listed first, decreasing in relevance as the user goes further down the list.

Submitting feedback

FITA provides an online feedback form to give users an opportunity to voice their comments on different matters.

Once the form has been completed the user must click on the submit button at the bottom of the page. This will forward the information to administration. We cannot guarantee a reply to every query but each one will be read and acted upon where necessary.
